J. Michael Joyce, B.E.S, M.B.A.
Michael Joyce is a strategy and execution specialist who has spent fifteen years working with small- to medium-sized enterprises, helping them articulate and execute strategic shifts in their businesses. His particular expertise is helping entrepreneurs identify the blockages that will impede the successful execution of their strategy. Having earned a client’s confidence and trust, Michael can then exercise his unique ability to help strong-minded people deal with the changes essential to achieving the desired results.
Prior to starting The Change Coach, Michael held senior corporate roles in major petrochemical, pharmaceutical, financial service and packaged goods organizations that were all focused on executing significant changes in the firms’ strategic direction. He also worked as a Principal with a large benefits consulting firm and carried out major strategic change projects for clients in the Ontario Public Service, Mining and Forestry sectors.
He has also co-created Strategic Capability Partners which is dedicated to the design and development of innovative tools to help clients measure both their ability to successfully execute their strategy and the degree of employee commitment to their organization.
For the past twelve years, Michael has been a faculty member of the Schulich School of Business at York University, where he has specialized in teaching Change Management at the MBA level.
He was invited by IDEA, the pre-eminent business school in Argentina, to lecture on the subject of managing organizational change. He is an effective presenter and workshop leader and has dealt with topics ranging from “Coaching ... the Missing Link in the Development Equation” to “The Organizational Impact of Free Trade on Argentinean Organizations”. He has also organized and presented at a major conference on Knowledge Management for the Conference Board of Canada.
